The full membership terms
- Total price
- Monthly plan: $10 a month. Yearly plan: $48 a year.
- Price shown is the total you pay. Every plan gives you full library access immediately after payment. If your membership ends and you rejoin later, the price available then applies.
- Price changes
- We may change the price of a plan. A new price applies to new sign-ups straight away. For an existing membership it applies only from a renewal that comes after we email you about it: we email you 30 days before that renewal, with the new price, the date it starts and a link to cancel online. If you do not want the new price, cancel before that renewal and you will not be charged it.
- How often you are charged
- Monthly plan: every month. Yearly plan: every year. The first charge is today.
- Automatic renewal
- Your membership renews automatically and your card is charged each month or year on the date you joined, until you cancel. There is no minimum term.
- How to cancel
- Online, any time, from your account page or the cancel link in our renewal reminder. No phone call, chat or email is needed. Cancel before your renewal date and you won't be charged again; you keep access until the end of the period you paid for. We email you a confirmation. Can't sign in? Request a new sign-in link on the account page. We send it by email.
- Reminders
- Yearly members: About 30 days before each yearly renewal we email you a reminder with the amount, the renewal date and a link to cancel. Monthly members get a reminder from us once a year with the plan, the price and how to cancel. Stripe emails a receipt for each payment. If we ever change your price, we email you 30 days before the renewal it applies to. Right after you join, we email you a copy of these terms with the cancel link.
- Refunds
- Full refund within 30 days of your first payment. Renewal charges are refundable if you ask within 14 days of the charge. A full refund of the payment covering your current membership period cancels your membership and ends online library access immediately. Files already downloaded remain licensed for household use. What a member gets
One membership covers one household. While it is active, you can open and download everything in the member library:
- All 12 virtues, in trail order: Conviction, Honesty, Kindness, Courage, Perseverance, Gratitude, Self-Control, Humility, Diligence, Forgiveness, Stewardship and Wisdom.
- The 40 lessons that are not free, each a PDF, plus one bonus lesson, Esther, in Courage. The 4 free lessons are open to everyone.
- A longer unit for each virtue, 12 units in all, all included in your membership.
- A star map, a checklist where you mark the lessons you have taught.
Files you download while you are a member stay yours to use in your household after the membership ends. The online library closes when the membership ends. We add new material over time and do not promise dates.
What is free
Four lessons are free for everyone: Asleep in the Boat, The Good Samaritan, The Extra Ten, The Empty Seat. Membership adds the other 40 lessons, the bonus Esther lesson and all twelve Character Units.
Our 4 free lessons are open to everyone and may be shared with another family or used with a church, Sunday school or classroom group. New lessons are added to the member library.
You give an email address to get a free lesson’s PDF, and that adds you to our welcome emails, which you can leave at any time. No card is needed.

Every plan includes the same full library, available immediately after payment. Plans differ only in price and billing frequency.

Monthly

Charged every month on the date you joined (or the last day of a shorter month), until you cancel.
Yearly
$48 a year
Charged once a year on the date you joined (on February 28 in years without a February 29), until you cancel. About 30 days before each yearly renewal we email you a reminder with the amount, the renewal date and a link to cancel.
